We are Griot Youth Leaders.
We are African American descendents of Africa.
Our legacy cannot be erased or slotted for extinction,
because we have contributed much to the world.
We are proud of these accomplishments.
We will strive to add our accomplishments to the list.
We will value and respect the accomplishments of others
as well as our own.
We come from a strong, powerful, and enduring people.
Others may have forgotten how great we really are
by leaving us out of the history books and reducing
our legacy to a few pages, but we will not.
We will use our resources, skills, intellect, and time
to further the accomplishments of our people.
We will make our ancestors proud.
We thank God for the opportunity to tell this story.
We will not only survive we will thrive.
